As A Last Resort Sometimes I Have To Use Narcotic Pain Relievers To Abort A Bad Migraine. Anyone Have Opinions On Which Ones Work Best?

I have horrible nausea and vomiting so it's tough to keep meds down which complicates the situation.

I use fiorecet with codeine . It really works well for me. But, my stomach can handle the codeine, some people can't handle the codeine.....better check first.....

I came off of all pain meds on June (per my new headache specialist) and though it's been really hard, it was the best decision for me. I was definitely in Med overuse and having rebounds. Now I don't take any of my 4 acute meds more than 2 days/week.

Yea, I started with a new headache specialist about 7 months ago and they took away all narcotics and put me on a very strict med regimen. I use dissolvable meds and nose sprays when gastroparesis and nausea/vomiting are an issue.

Instead of narcotics, have you ever tried medication that comes in a tablet form that you put in your rectum? Not hard to put in, and they just dissolve. That way you still get the medication without having to worry about vomiting or stomach trouble. They work really well for me. I've always been told not to use narcotics for migraine ... :S But I hope you find something!
