Yes I get them. The Effect is pretty immediate. Only last a couple weeks tops for me. It keeps it bearable for 2 weeksish. I get them every other week. They hurt like hell especially if you get them in you forehead and eyebrows. Nothing else even touches mine so the little relief I get is worth it right now.
It's called occipital nerve ablation. I am hoping it works because we are running out of options
Diane what is this procedure?
I don't mind getting them... I felt they were less painful then Botox. And I leave feeling great unfortunately they only last 2-5 days for me...I still appreciate the break. Once insurance approves it they will be making holes on the occipital nerve sheath that's suppose to help for up to 2 years
I've had quite a few especially in my neck. I have a lot of pain and muscle stiffness due to the daily headaches. The blocks work well for my neck. Some have even reduced my neck pain by about 60% for four to six months at a time. My dr does the blocks one side at a time at a surgery center under anesthesia. I can't imagine being awake. And I just had one to get rid of a month long cluster headache. I have had a few that didn't work. Unfortunately if this happens my headache pain soars. Nothing like having a headache and having someone stick a needle in an area thats already hurting. They haven't helped my daily migraines much but it's really great to even eliminate some of the side effect pain. Hope this helps!
