I have been on Topomax for about 12 years now (only stopped long enough to have my 9yr old and that was brutally painful) but I'm struggling with the worse side-effect...it's messing with my memory.
Does anyone have any recommendations for other preventatives to try?
The best one I have found is lyrica, less memory problems than with any other preventive I have tried
My dr give me a tablet that you take one in 24 hours they are called naramig very good
Someone once said they got a Tragus piercing and THAT worked better than the Daith.
I've tried a lot of meds and am up to having Botox every three months. Cuts them down to about 5 from the 15 I was having .
Botox, vaporic acid, cymbalta, propranolol, there are many many many others. Vaporic acid is in the same class so it might work better for you.
I had horrible side effects on topomax (to the point it made me black out well I was driving on the highway and crashed. But vaporic acid I can handle (and affects my memory less)
Migraines themselves though affect my memory - whenever I have pain I have a hard time remembering that day and since I have a headache/migraine every day ....
