Has Anyone Had A Seizure Triggered By Migraine?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

A few weeks ago I woke with the worst migraine I had ever suffered. I was so incapacitated I was unable to get out of bed or summon any help to get my medication. My next memory after that was waking up feeling extremely disorientated and distressed. It took me a while to realise that I had a badly bitten and bruised tongue, I had vomited and I had wet myself. The next few days are a bit of a blur. My daughter came to visit and immediately phoned for an ambulance as I was very incoherent. I… read more

I have migraine related seizures.. mine are ‘caused’ by psychological issues.. so pseudo seizures.. or psychological seizures like mine are caused when my migraine puts what seems like too much pressure on my brain.. which in turn trigger almost what I can only describe as a closterphobic feeling to which my brain remembers abuse that I endured in the past causing it to shut down and reset.. the resetting process tho is very painful and can only be described as a seizure. This has been on going for around 7 years now.. the neurologist was amazed that I was alive and that I had this happen so many times in the past several years that I was a miracle. Normal ‘out’ time is two thru ten minutes.. I was out of it for hours at a time after each episode.. then to add to the horrible way my brain reacted I started having two seizures every time.. every single time.. it’s almost twilight zone feeling because I can be out and yet know everything happening around me.. but I have no way to respond.. that’s what freaks me out the most. I remember once I was rushed to the hospital and a nurse and assistant came to catherize me, the assistant says doesn’t her chart say she has an allergy to latex? The nurse says she doesn’t know and doesn’t have time to go look so I just better hope I’m not allergic to the cath. And allergic is an understatement for my allergy. My allergy is so bad that I can’t even eat bananas because of my mouth burning like thousands of wasps are stinging it over and over at the same time. My memory directly after the seizures and for around two to three hours is scrambled eggs tho, I have four children, my youngest two being twins who are now 7, yes my seizures started shortly after they were born but my migraines were diagnosed chronic at age 11, but I didn’t know who my own children were.. not a single one of them.. anywho I got both my daiths done a few years ago and I helped me so much.. but it has its times it does not.. I had been on everything they could try. Nothing worked. And to this day I went from 6-7 migraines a week to 3-4 a week.. but I honestly can tell you that I have had only 8 migraine related seizures since getting my daiths.. I hope this helps someway or another
