There is an anti-CGRP med available this year: Qulipta. I have United Healthcare Medicare Advantage & it's not on the drug formulary. So I have to get a prior authorization. The pharmacist said… read more
If I over work neck/shoulder muscles I'm in for a bad migraine. I need to build strength in my shoulders but how can I when it brings on a migraine?
Try light physical therapy stretches. Just go slowly on increasing tension or weight... Start super light
I get lots of intractable migraines that last longer that 48-72 hours & don't respond to standard treatment (also called status migrainosus). I would love to know if any of you have ideas on how to treat them?
To complicate things further I can't take ergots or triptans because of severe side effects to these medications in the past. My "go-to" medicine for this is a steroid taper (was 4mg methylprednisolone taper pack but eventually that stopped helping & the dr upped the dose to a 20mg predni… read more

Ever since I got the copper IUD (paraguard) I've noticed my acne has became significantly worse, takes longer to heal, and creates worse/more scarring. I had not taken any birth control for 3-4 years before I got the IUD. My skin used to be normal, even through pregnancy and after. My doctor thinks taking something hormonal will worsen my migraines. But I'm wondering now if it would just be worth it in the end anyway, and maybe just treat the worsening migraines if my body doesn't get used to it… read more

My migraines are definitely triggered by the barometric pressure going down. It doesn't seem to bother me when it rises. I live in the Calgary, Alberta, Canada region and we have the worst BP changes in the country. Used to love the Chinooks over the mountains as it brings warmer weather but now that I have migraines, I dread them.
I get one almost every time the B. Pressure changes. If I take a ubrelvy as soon as I get the first sign of a migraine I can avoid severe pain. Just have the "dull" pain/pressure
This is only my second injection so I don't know if this is normal or not. For those that have more experience with Botox is this something that you have noticed?

Does anyone get Botox for migraines?
does it work for Barometric Pressure trigger migraine?
Does insurance cover?
My Medicare covers botox too. Some find it very helpful-others not so much. Good luck.
I received my first Botox treatment yesterday. My neurologist told me that it could take two weeks to take effect. Today I've had some fairly strong pain spikes and visual disturbances, but no constant throbbing. I'm wondering about other people's experiences.
What do you take that helps? What do you do that helps?
For me I usually take a hot shower, then put some tiger balm on my forehead, use a cool wash cloth on my neck and then take medication if it gets really bad...
So what do you guys do? I'm willing to try anything to see if I can have something new that would work. So what do you guys use?
A quality laboratory extracted CBD oil (no or only legally .03 Thc /so no high) that is third party tested. Had worked wonders for me. But be careful not to overuse and build up a tolerance. There are… read more
