I have chronic migraines & by not finding any form of relief I've ended up taking strong painkillers almost everyday for a long time. I've been told by my doc to stop, how long did it take to see improvement.
I have been taking hydrocodone with my other rescue meds for 12 years. All my neurologist say that I am suffering from rebound headaches. At one time I had moved out of state. I didn't have a new doc nor any meds. I suffered for 6 months before I moved back to my home town. I am not scared of taking meds. The thing I am kinda scared of is having to live in pain the rest of my life with doctors and government having complete control over how I am treated. The only thing that works for me is rescue meds that I have been on and I have tried everything else. Now I am barely getting by with the few meds they allow me. And they wonder why I am depressed when all I can do is to stay in the dark and not be able to do much of anything because when I do I wind up in pain and some times the ER.
Also have you seen a pain doc for injections to block the nerves??
True that..
It’s sad that so many Dr’s have become so hardened to human suffering. To completely cut someone with migraines off their pain meds is Cruel and lacks all compassion and empathy. People shouldn’t have to suffer from intolerable pain, for any reason. This society wouldn’t allow an animal to be in the same amount of pain and go untreated. They wouldn’t tell a dog to “suck it up”;”or walk it off”. A Veterinarian would be run out of town if they intentionally let an animal suffer but it’s perfectly fine for it to happen to people. I think it’s inexcusable. No one needs to suffer. They do need to be responsible for their choices though, and need to follow their Dr’s prescription instructions without fail (or abuse).
I feel the same way. For me the only thing that takes my migraine away is oxycodone, however I cannot seem to get help, cause I get told I am only getting the rebound headaches as well. I will go to ER as well, however they have tried everything they can and yet I still leave with a migraine. No one seems to care or understand. Who can afford to go to the ER, two or more times a month. An RX is way cheaper! So annoyed!
