What Do You Do When Anyone Says Rest?!
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

I know this might sound simple... but I really don’t know..! Do you lay down close your eyes and wait for the pain to pass?! Do you try to sleep?! Do you watch tv or read or garden or play with your dog or cat.... ? My sister used to get bad migraine like me but now she’s getting better. She has other health issues. She always says to me you have to rest. I can’t work so I’m home I try to bbsit my grand kids. I watch tv play games and read. My migraine are chronic so I don’t do much and she… read more

Thank you!
Someone suggested a magnesium supplement called MagSrt. And she says it is super gentle on her stomach and helps with the bone pain we get with our blood cancer!!!
I will definitely try the oils for sure!!!

Take Care!!

Well if i feel like a migraine is coming. Like i do now. I am in bed watching tv with lights off. I dont have any pain but i am getting weened off my preventative and realized i was yawning all day and craving chocolate. If a migraine is creeping in then migraine glasses come on magnesium spray neck pillows meditation music and tv on low volume if i can handle it if not then meditation music or a bubble bath. Full blown migraine. Tv off, eye mask on, in bed with ice packs heating pads and bubble baths alternating until i pass out. If preassure is too bad in my ears i use migrainex earplugs they hurt my ears but release preassure. I am hoping my rest aborts this migraine. I am packing for a 4 week trip tomorrow and leaving wednesday. Just broke a week long migraine sept 23rd with a shot, a dose of steroids and muscle relaxers. I dont have time for that again! Luckily i am heading to my parents so have most supplies there. I hope you figure out the kind of rest you need. Oh i have also found a leg elevation pillow very helpful for me as well. I have turned into a very high maintenance rester!

Everybody is different. Not everything will wk. for everyone. I was never able to sleep when I got hit w/a whopper, sometimes not even after I took whatever med I eas on @ the time during my over 40 yrs .of suffering from Chronic Migraine. I have always been under the care of a neurologist. That is the only way you can get relief. They are up on all the new & oldies but still goodies meds. Migraine is not just a headache It is a Neurological Disease. Educate yourself so you will understand exactly what you have.

I usually take cbd oil Diphenhydramine (over the counter sleep aid) together to help me sleep a little better through the pain, while also icing my neck and head with squishy Ice packs i can lay down on. This helps a little to fall asleep and sometimes even helps the migraine subside (slightly) anyways after a nap.
