I can't believe how much better I feel now that the temperature has dropped. There also does not seem to be the big fluctuations in the temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. The thing that is still messing with my head is precipitation. I know the day before it's going to rain, then it rains and then it takes a day to feel better. That's three days out of my life. Weather migraines are really bad, anybody else have them? In sure lots of us do. Anyone know how to avoid or cope… read more
Hi Barbara
I also feel like a weather vane.
Barometric pressures really affect my migraines and follow by extreme fatigue that last day or two 😔😢
I have spots on my head that are sore to the touch, one is right in the center of my forehead, there are also spots over my ears and in the back of my head. This is a new occurrence, I have just noticed it in the past month or so. The pain is there even when I don't have a headache.
Omg. I went to my first appointment at my Headache Center this week. I was so looking forward to moving on from just meds. What a joke this neuro was. He was so rude the moment he came in. I brought… read more
My migraines are definitely triggered by the barometric pressure going down. It doesn't seem to bother me when it rises. I live in the Calgary, Alberta, Canada region and we have the worst BP changes in the country. Used to love the Chinooks over the mountains as it brings warmer weather but now that I have migraines, I dread them.
I get one almost every time the B. Pressure changes. If I take a ubrelvy as soon as I get the first sign of a migraine I can avoid severe pain. Just have the "dull" pain/pressure
It detects CSF leaks in the spine.
This is a diagnostic test. It is a spinal tap wherein they put dye in your spine to detect a fluid leak which could be causing my constant headache for 4 years, every minute of every day. I am… read more
I'm thinking about using a tracking calendar, but I'm unsure what they want me to track.
Well, obviously the migraines...but how will it help?
Has anyone used one and found them helpful, and if so...what did you gain from it?
Thanks!
Have a beautiful day.
I used an app on my phone. Migraine Buddy I think was the name of it. It allows for RX etc and note taking on the go in middle of migraines as well. You can share info with your doctors as well from… read more
What do you guys know about triptan overuse headaches?
I just learned of them from a nurse at my neurologist’s office. This had never been mentioned before by my neurologist and he prescribes me 30 rizatriptans per month and 7 frovatriptans per month, which covers my 20 migraines (if they decide to work). However, I had no idea that by taking the prescribed medication as directed, I could actually be causing more migraines. But if I don’t take them, I’m in excruciating pain and am… read more
talking about it is just that....talk. No proof exists. It is controversial which is why it is discussed. Each person is different so the bottom line is how a particular drug affects you. If… read more
Hello,
After a long journey, I think we are finally figuring out that I have been experiencing silent migraines for just over two years now. I am new to this group and still have lots to learn. Does anyone know if MRI scans usually indicate whether silent migraines (or any other type) have been occurring, or do neurologists tend to diagnose them based on symptoms and medical history alone?
Thank you,
Janessa
My experience with silent migraines is that I pass through the other three phases of migraine, but my body skips the pain step
My symptoms started two years ago. I started with shoulder pain, which… read more
I took low-dose Neurontin (100 mg) at night for about 20 years for nerve pain not related to migraine. I had infrequent migraines before and during those years with neurontin
I stopped taking the Neurontin about three years ago
About a year after stopping the Neurontin, my migraines went from my having 1-4 short episodes a YEAR to having 5 to 15 of migraine days a MONTH. It’s now been 2-3 years of severe chronic migraines.
I read an article about Neurontin recently as a preventative for… read more

When I get a migraine my neck hurts really bad. I have found a neck brace really helps with the pain. Does any one else have this problem? Has any one else used a neck brace for this too? What else has any one tried that works?
No to the neckbrace but yes to the pain. I actually asked hubby to learn to "stretch" my neck with massage movements. It eases tension in the neck and allows it to stretch like the rest of the body… read more
