Dehydration
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

The other day, I had a migraine after not drinking enough water. Can this be because I was slightly dehydrated?

Yes, i get migraines when i am in the desert or after exercising. Or if i dont drink enough water or if i decide the one or 2 times a year to partake in a happy hour. I always have to have water on me. I have cut out sodas and dairy. Will drink gatorade if i feel really dehydrated but hate to because of the sodium.

Probably. It can be a cause of migraines. Try to stay hydrated, especially in the summer.

I have a hard time completely giving up caffeine. One caffeine beverage is usually fine. Gave up sodas in 2010. My coach told me too.

Trying to be better about this. I'm a huge coffee drinker, trying to limit the caffeine to one cup of coffee. I cut out sodas a long time ago. I do forget to rehydrate after I go walk or run, though.

Oh, i was just told in November to give up Coke. I am from Ga. worked at Coca-Cola. Grew up drinking coke all day long. Its been rough over here. But its funny when a boss tells a 45 year old that they are more calm since giving up caffeine
