How Long Does It Take For Botox Effects?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

I had botox about 5 days ago. I don't feel anything other than a small bruise on my neck and some very very slight stiffness between my eyebrows. I don't want to wake up surprised that my face won't move LOL
How long does it usually take for the stiff botox feeling to really take effect?

My botox lessened the frequency and the pain. It has now been 2 months and they are creeping in more frequently. But the pain is not as bad yet. Knock on wood. I have 2 more days of bad thunderstorms coming through!

Hiiii... I am so excited for you! Botox is wonderful! I've been getting Botox injections for about 4 years & it has saved me! To answer your question... it takes about 2 weeks to fully take effect. I hope you have relief!!

I had my botox 8 days ago for the first time. I havent felt the tightness people talk about. But i feel preassure. I had it all over my forehead, on top of head, back of neck and down back. Unfortunately, when i slept i didnt listen to her and pushed the botox into my right eyelid. Oh well. But my PT has noticed a huge difference in my range of motion in mt neck. I can finally look up at the sky and turn my head both ways! Yay! Hope it helps. For some reason i get an error for posting unless i post a gif? Maybe i need a new phone or a break from the phone. So heres a gif.

Sami I think everyone’s different. I think Doctors give Botox in different areas around the head. I go to a Neurologist and she knows what she’s doing. I have been to another Dr. and he had a Nurse Do it and it was horrible.

Does the botox prevent migraines or just lessen the pain?
