Does anybody have or get any type of speech problems when leading up to or during a Migraine?
I develop a stammer and struggle to even get any words out. This then upsets me and thus makes my migraine come on quicker or makes it worse.

I have always had some visual disturbance with and preceding a migraine. However it is rarer that I have a super aura. The first time I had one, I woke to the certainty of police and emergency vehicles outside our window. The red lights were flashing all around my room. Once very early on in my headache journey. Now, 30 years later I have had several in a year. No headache with them but once a few years ago. That headache was more painful.

What do you guys know about triptan overuse headaches?
I just learned of them from a nurse at my neurologist’s office. This had never been mentioned before by my neurologist and he prescribes me 30 rizatriptans per month and 7 frovatriptans per month, which covers my 20 migraines (if they decide to work). Glad to hear that worked for you. Valproic acid has many possible severe side effects including affecting liver causing death and pancreatitis. Each person has to weight the benefits vs the risks… read more
Has anyone had any success applying for disability due to migraines? I've been having an awful time with migraines. The last 3 months have been the worst. I've missed many days of work as a result. I can't expect my employer to continue being understanding. Any advice?
I applied fo SSDI for Hearing Loss & Migraines & got it. Make sure on your Appl. you mention that Migraines are not just a Headache...They are a Neurological Disease.
Howdy again, Migraine Warriors. I'm dealing with a symptom that seems to have dual causes & I'm curious who else struggles with it & how they deal with it, especially ways to reverse the effects. Memory loss. Like, severe dementia-style memory loss. Scary, will-i-wake-up-tomorrow-&-not-know-who-i-am scary. My causes seem to be migraine compounded by years of gabapentin (neurontin) use. my doctor started me on memantine, which it what they prescribe for people with dementia. Too soon to see if it helps
