Has Anyone Tried The New CGRP Treatment Or Clinical Trial?

A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been on the trial for a few months now and it's been a miracle for me. I was having 14+ migraines per month and now I only get 2 or 3. I'm wondering if others have any experiences with this drug?

I am on Aimovig, for about 2 years now. It helped bring my migraines down from 14 per month to 5. I don't have any side effects that I know of. I pay $5 per month through the manufacturer's program. You might ask about that for whichever CPRG medication you are interested in. Also, I have seen reports that Aimovig will be going generic as soon as 2028.

the estimated cost when they become available is predicted to be very high and many insurance companies are not expected to cover it. have you heard anything about that? I feel I'd benefit greatly from it, but I'm worried I'll never be able to get them.

Me too. I answer all the questions honestly, and always get turned down. I think the truth of the matter is, I get TOO many headaches to be in any study. I truly do get headaches every single day, and then about every 4-6 weeks, I go down with a big migraine for 2-3 days. I also have seizure disorder. That seems to get preclude me from studies as well. I was precluded from a CGRP study because of my seizure disorder. I am really excited for CGRP to be available. I think it will be what Imitrex was 25 years ago, and I truly could not live without Imitrex or other triptains now. So to have something new to put in my little tool chest will be awesome.
