So this may be getting a little personal...My husband and I have been talking about having a baby. Right now, it's being postponed until after I have my TMJ surgery, which I meet my surgeon this month. (so nervous) but anyways, any advice on pregnancy and migraines? How to cope, has pregnancy made yours worse? better? Anything would be greatly appreciated, I know that everyone is different, but I would love to hear from people who understand what I'm going through daily.
When I was pregnant my migraines went away. I was the healthiest I ever was. But after I gave birth things came back.
Lots and lots (really a lot) of water!! I found that working out in water (pool) Helped me a whole lot.
My migraines were better when I was pregnant...I have 4 children. Although in the first trimester I had many tension headaches but no migraines..although every one is different. Your hormones definitely change though..also I had 4 boys. Idk if that made a difference or not. Good luck 🍀👍
Every person and every pregnancy is different. No migraines with 2 of my pregnancies, but one was really bad ( I've had 4). Was in er at 3 weeks and they did not do the pregnancy test I asked. They gave me medication I shouldn't have taken which led to a rare form of epilepsy for my daughter. Not trying to scare you, just be very careful if there is ANY possibility you are pregnant. Make sure your hubby knows to push for the test while you are incoherent. Talk to your neurologist and ob Dr before you start having problems so you can have a plan in place.
Your doctor may have something you can take while pregnant. I was given blood pressure medicine once and it REALLY worked on my migraines until it dropped my blood pressure so low I couldn't move. It might be worth looking into because it's safe for pregnancy and some women run higher blood pressure when pregnant. @A MyMigraineTeam Member
