Cephaly
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

My neurologist recently read an article about the Cephaly device. Has anyone tried the device? Does it work for chronic daily migraines?

So unfair. I paid out of pocket. Amazon has some other tens units for your head. I'd imagine a different unit would work as well - I'd check out the Youtubes for Cefaly or any other headache devices, just to make sure you're scrambling the right part of your brain! My husband had a headache for days. I gave him the Cefaly so he'd stop whining (we migraineurs have the right to - husbands with head colds, not so much!) He said it hurt. I just feel blessed numbness.Even if it only lasts the 20 minutes it's on, it's a relief.

Since I wrote this, I got an email from Cefaly - - they have redesigned the unit. Now you can buy 1 for preventative, or 1 for migraine, or 1 that works as for both. If I had the $, I would invest in the one that you can use for both. I also forgot to add, you must have a prescription for it. Also, it was rumored last year that the unit would be covered by insurance. I am definitely going to call Anthem.

Hey there - i got the Acute Cefaly device and I've had 1 migraine since. It did nothing except numb me like the original Cefaly does (this was during a nasty rainy weather day.) Have another migraine brewing, so I am going to try it again. Hope you are feeling well today. I will keep you posted.

Hey Lynny, I went to a conference with Dr Tepper and Dr Tepper and they said that TENS isn't the same as TNSN (I think). TNSN is what Cefaly is and it apparently goes directly to the nerves whereas TENS is more general it's not as direct. I bought some TENS "Massagers" in LIDL for €6 and I find it relaxing, I don't think it fully helped but its relaxing for sure x

I have the Cefaly. If I use it he moment I feel a migraine coming on, it can lessen the pain. (Going to use it now!) It makes your head go numb and somewhat tingly. If I have a particularly nasty migraine, it will help the pain, but then the numbness wears off. Mostly it just delays the inevitable Sumatriptan injection when a really nasty one is hitting. It should be used as a preventative, 20 mins a day.
