Balance has become a big issue for me as well. I try to make sure my feet are always firmly planted , but I have had a few nasty falls. At times I stumble around like a drunk, I do have a cane, but I don't want to get dependant on it so I haven't used it. I don't go anywhere without my cell phone, just in case.
Be careful when going out unstable it could be dangerous. I’m often off balance with my migraines. I fell once and shattered my ankle. Five screws and two bolts later I use my cane and don’t care who looks.
I do too. Sometimes it's really bad. I just laugh and say "I told you my middle name is not Grace". Sometimes it's the migraines , sometimes it's the meds.
I’ve been studying martial arts 20 years then tai chi for the last 10. My balance was phenomenal until chronic migraine disease. I bounce off the wall in the morning on the way to the bathroom. As I do my morning tai chi and qigong routines I often have to grab a chair or table. It’s so frustrating!!! The more I work the better it gets. Some days are much better. Will I ever get back to my previous level of balance? Gee, I would hope so but it seems like a daily, incremental improvement, with potential for 2 steps forward, 1stapd backward. Such is our life.
I do. I have fallen many times. I almost fell early this a.m. Was awake all night with restless leg syndrome and getting over a migraine. It was dark downstairs and we don’t have a light switch upstairs to turn on the hall light downstairs. I started to fall as I reached the two remaining steps, held on tightly to the railing and just made it from falling. I didn’t get any sleep afterwards, Or all day today, except two short naps this aft. . Now, going to bed at 10.00 p.m. after all those hours without any sleep — that is about 30 hours later. Go figure!
