Does Anyone Take Sumatriptan But Is Also On An Antidepressant?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question šŸ’

Sumatriptan helps my migraines but I also take 20mg of Lexapro daily. There is a potential for drug interacton. My psychiatrist said he has never had a patient with an interaction but I just worry and that can make my migraines worse. Thank you!

I'm a pharmacist and also take 2 depression meds. I've never seen somebody have a problem with this interaction. That's not to say that no one has that interaction. I just know how many people are taking the type of antidepressant (SSRI) that you are (lots and lots) and have no problem taking migraine treatments like Sumatriptan. I wouldn't give it another thought, just enjoy the relief you get from your medications!

Thank you so much for your answer, especially now because I have been having a few more migraines than I usually get.. I am tapering off 20mg of Lexapro and going back on 20mg of Paxil. Lexapro wasn't working for me and I had been on Paxil for years and it worked well for me. Thank you again šŸ˜Š
