I have just experienced what I think is a cluster migraine. It started a week ago like any other migraine and after a couple of days the symptoms were reducing only to return twice with slight gaps in between and lasting a week to date. It is best to look up “Cluster Headaches” to get the best info. They are different from the “Migraine” itself. I read up on Cluster Headaches, but it takes time to actually explain. They may occur once a year, or at different intervals during the year and last a few days, then disappear for a while.
From what I know about headaches, if a person continues to take the same medicine repeatedly with no resolution it can cause more pain than relief. This MAY be what's referred to as a cluster headache. This is not fact just what I THINK I remember reading. If I suspect this is what's happening to me I begin by drinking even more water backing off previous meds and if I have to finally contacting the Dr.
