i can't take triptans, and pain pills don't work, so my neuro gave me muscle relaxers. They work for all but the most severe ones. They don't always completely get rid of it, but they get them down to just a dull a pressure. First I was on Flexaril, for years until I got too used to it, now I'm on tizanidine.

Imitrex caused me to have a TIA and I can't take any of the "triptans" they cause my throat to close.

Yes it comes in pills, nasal spray & injection. I've done all 3, injections works best & the quickest. IV therapy works really well if you've had the headache for a long time I like DHE as the main medication.
