I live in Yorkshire England. I'm really finding it hard to get my doctor to really listen to me. They don't seem to understand how debilitating migrains are. I want them to refare me to a specialist I'm sure there must be some research doctors specialist in the whole of england. I will travel anywhere to get help I feel so desperate,as I'm sure you fellow sufferers will totally understand were I'm coming from. Any advice will be so greatly appreciated. Thank you superd

It's very hard to have an illness and your own doctor do not care to understand.
I understand what your going through. I have had the same behavior from my pain management dr. He told me to just exercise that would help, as if I don't exercise. Also assuming I might abuse narcotics or not wanting to prescribe any to me knowing I am in pain. I am a pleasant person but when it comes to treating me in such dismissive and 15 minutes of assembly line product manner, I change my attitude and have to get very assertive and active in my treat me. I have to tell the doctor exactly how I feel. Most the time I am making sure my doctors understand how I feel. If I am not getting the understanding that I need I will change doctors.
It is a must to have a doctor that understands and treated people with fibromyalgia and knowledgeable of all the underlying conditions that people experience with migraines being one of the many symptoms.

If your doctor isn’t listening to you, ask for a neurologist. That is the doc who usually treats severe migraine and believe me, they understand migraine and will work WITH you to find solutions. Be persistent - you have to be your own advocate. Good luck.

I have had migraines for the past 3 weeks and now it's unbearable. My face is hurting so bad, I can't even keep my eyes open. I'm hurting starting from top of head to just under my nose and neck. I am trying to hold off going to urgent care or er...I am not sure if I can wait until June 12th for neurologist appt.
I am not functioning right now and @tylenol 3 isn't helping. I am putting warm compresses on my face and neck.
