I would ask your Neurologist if you have one. I have tried so many treatments and medications which I know that they do not work. Right now I am trying to get Emgality thru the pharmaceutical company. Where I see my Neurologist they have a pharmacy specialist that do most of the work. I have given them all my info and tax information to show I meet the standards for not being able to afford it. I will finally know in about a month now. I have also used a taper of steroids to break the cycle for a few days. Problem with that is you cannot take it often. I also have a medical marijuana card bc my Migraines are intractable.

I have tried many different prescription pills, and Frova works (by far) the best for me. It doesn't eliminate a migraine but makes them bearable (eg, bad headache). I've never tried any of the preventative shots. Thankfully I only get them about 1-2x/month, so I'm not getting them as frequently as many on this site seem to be.
