Aimovig
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

Looking into trying Aimovig. Wondering if there is anyone who has tried this? Are there any side effects I should be aware of? Does it help prevent like daily bad headaches as well as migraines, like pain level 5-7 (not quite a migraine but definitely painful)? Where do you inject it? What insurances will cover it? Any information on this would be helpful! Thank you!

Was on aimovig about a year. Worked for awhile even on max dose I wasnt migraine free. Had alot of burning pain while injected. Switched to Emagality which has worked much better cmany of these drigs have discount cards available. I paid nothing out of pocket for either drug as well as botox

I have been on aimovig for 8 months now. The first couple of months I went from 20days of migraines a month to maybe one or two a month

Ok tried to delete and wouldnt let me answered in wrong place. My doctor and i discussed it next because topomax has too many side effects for me. Im on another preventative i dont like so next will be that or botox. I have a HUGE fear of shots she said i would give it to my leg. So we are still sorting out what will be next. Sorry for long drawn out answer for above my arm hurts im going to bed and will erase tomorrow have fo fo back to MRI. So worn out for day! Good luck!
Im sorry your going through this. I will be watching the answers. I too am always fatiqued. And i only can stomach junk food or cooked food. Today i had 1/2 a coke peanut m&ms and a couple bites of rice and chicjeb. I cant eat raw like fruits or vegetables. I am tapering off topomax so dealing with weight gain already and new preventative meds cause weight gain. I too suffer from anxiety and am sad because my belly and chin are getting bigger. I just took a month off work and am anxious of people talking about my weight gain when i return friday. I did go down to 3.5 days a week so i hope to get out snow shoeing and stretching more. But hopefully i can stick to it. The meds make me so sleepy and if its not the meds its the pain. I got out of bed today for an MRI then straight back to bed. That was my day. Take care of yourself and feel better!
