Changing Medicine?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

Going to see my doctor today any 1 better migraine medication than another? I've been taking Topiramate 4x nightly it was working but lately ( over a year) it's been less effective I think it's time to change I'm still getting severe migraines..suggestions?

Seen the doctor he gave me sample of Nurtec and see how that works of not prescribing Sumatriptan?

Be very careful with the Nurtec. It's very rough on your kidneys. After 1 month. I took it 3 times.
My Kidneys shut down. I spent 5 days in ICU .
After seeing 3 new doctors . I have been informed that most all migraine meds are filtered through the kidney. Be Careful

Topimax is nicknamed dopamax for a reason, it has a lot of side effects including memory problems. My neuro switched me to zonisamide/zonagran and there was an immediete improvement.

Thank you for the information. We are going to try to increase the dosage on the Topiramate and perhaps try the Sumatriptan again
