Have You Taken Birth Control To Help With Migraines Liked To Menstrual Cycle And Stopped Due To Stroke Risk?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question đź’

I have been taking birth control continually (no break for a period) for over a year now. It has helped with my migraines which are linked to my menstrual cycle. However, my neurologist tells me that studies show that people who have migraine with aura should not take birth control pills as there is a higher risk for stroke. I am going to stop taking the pill, but I am worried about my migraines coming back like they used to. Any alternatives?

A MyMigraineTeam Member

Has Anyone Had Worsening Migraines For The First Week After Aimovig Inj. Before Feeling Better?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question đź’

Every month when I take my Aimovig inj for the first week it seems that I have terrible migraines and then I'm better. Anyone else!? And yes... barometric/environmental systems reek havoc on my headaches also. When
weather is nice, not too hot, not too humid, just right I feel pretty good. But I also can tell way beforehand when rain is coming, or heat w/humidity,etc. too cold 🥶❄️, etc. I have Fibromyalgia too. The two seem to go hand in hand unfortunately!

Does Anyone Experience Strange Speech Patterns Prior To A Migraine?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question đź’

What I mean by strange speech patterns is trying to say something and it takes two or three tries to say it or scrambling something and it severely. The last couple of migraines I've noticed that it takes two or three times to say something. It's not slurred, just it seems like my brain can't put two and two together to make what it wants. I had one coming on the other day and I was supposed to say did you want milk in your cereal but it came out did you want cereal in your milk? I'm wondering… read more

Speech Problems
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question đź’

Does anybody have or get any type of speech problems when leading up to or during a Migraine?
I develop a stammer and struggle to even get any words out. This then upsets me and thus makes my migraine come on quicker or makes it worse.
