I’ve just come out of a 3 week spell of constant migraines, I’m getting a bit of a reprieve but it’s the not knowing when they’ll hit. I’ve elderly parents in their 90’s so I need to be available. It’s so worrying ugh. Merry Christmas everyone 😘.

Being a challenging balancing act…and exhausting. I’ve had to switch to a new preventative every couple of years. Sometimes they stop working and other times the side effects get worse. The same is true for abortive meds. Having a couple of different options to take as soon as I feel a migraine has been very helpful for me as well. Be sure to schedule time for self care…chill out time. Be well.

Thank you both for answering. I appreciate the tips and it’s not easy with family who depend on us. I take Topamax however I’m on it so long now I don’t know if I’m used to it or it’s maybe keeping the really violent ones at bay and I don’t realise it. I’ll certainly read that book I will read/ try almost anything for relief. 💚💚💚.

Sorry you went through 3 weeks. Knock on wood, my really debiliting migraines have lessened. I was on topirimate and couldnt get rid of a migraine. I took a dose of steroids. Then got a kidney stone. So now i am on quulipta. And botox. And it has been a game changer! I was with my sister for a couple of months and i used to not drink at all because i would get a migraine instantly and start vomitting for hours. I was able to have some drinks with her and not once did i throw up. Which i used to throw up at least twice a week with migraines. I have had milder but lingering migraines lately. But think it is stress related and that i got off my regular diet and maybe those few drinks did have something to do with it! But i hope you find your answers. And i hope i find my energy again. I was helping my mom in atlanta who was sick and it is exhausting taking care of ofher people especially family because it is personal feelings too. Hoping you feel bettwr soon
