What insurance company is used to help with the cost of all medications for migraines? If you are on Medicare, those little coupons disqualify you from any discounts, which I'm not sure I want to understand their reasoning there. That's the government, always there to help. LOL
Not one prescription has been under the cost of $500, and on a strict budget, that's not possible. If anyone has any ideas that would help, I would be grateful.

Hi,
I am also on Medicare and I have part D drug coverage through them. You are absolutely right about the companies offering discount coupons to anyone except Medicare recipients.
Your doctor can contact the part D Medicare drug program that you have, and the doctor will receive paperwork to ask for an exception, and give the justification of why the medication you need should be offered at a lower rate.
This does require cooperation from your doctor, but I have done this and I know other people who have done this successfully.
Best of luck to you.
I wish I had an answer. The best I could do was to use the monthly injection of Emgality. It's between $300-$400, depending on your supplemental policy if you are on Medicare. If you qualify for Medicaid-no problem with coverage.
I'm on Medicare and medicade and my drug cost is only $1.40-$3.40 I would try calling and find out what all you qualify for!
I will. I have it on Monday. I'm not afraid of needles. By any means, I am worried about possible reactions, not knowing anyone who's had this procedure before. I always like to be prepared and talk to others that have it done.
Thanks for your concern
Please let us know how the infusion goes. I'm in the same situation. Good luck?
