I'm vegetarian & am careful to not eat food with additives. Bread is home made. Soup is often home made. Stock is vegan & gluten free. Cheese is good quality and I'm in the UK.
I have had migraines since I was a teen, but chronic since I was in my 30's. I'm now 54 and am on Topirimate and Aimovig injections.
I’ve started literally being triggered by natural glutamates in my food and so my brain throws a fit anything is too tasty. When I was young, I was lucky and it was just concentrated versions of that tastiness like MSG? But as I get older and older I can’t have the glutamates in yeast extract, celery leaves, mature mushrooms - you name it, the more umami the more upset my head is! Now, if this is the case, you can counter a certain amount with magnesium supplements to shut it up - they chemically bind each other, that was a good tip from the fibro folks. But I hope you’re not like me. Glutamate is, like, in everything.
I agree but I'm all thumbs in the kitchen. One of my brothers developed CKD which another food base core. He identified it & went stage4 to stage 3B. He's my hero.
