How much does the weather play a role with your migraine

How much does the weather play a role with your migraine

I can't believe how much better I feel now that the temperature has dropped. There also does not seem to be the big fluctuations in the temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. The thing that is still messing with my head is precipitation. I know the day before it's going to rain, then it rains and then it takes a day to feel better. That's three days out of my life. Weather migraines are really bad, anybody else have them? In sure lots of us do.… read more

Do you feel guilty about things you can not do?

Do you feel guilty about things you can not do?

It is a beautiful sunny day, the kind of day that I should be out doing some yard work. But, I just can't. My husband works at least 60 hours a week and this weekend he is working on my summer car. We have hired someone to do our yard work and some inside work that I am unable to do. I find it frustrating, and embarrassing that I have to hire someone to work for me and I find myself feeling very guilty. I don't know how to deal with these emotions. I was always the… read more

If you have had the daith piercing done what is the recovery time like? How quickly did you notice a difference in your migraines?

If you have had the daith piercing done what is the recovery time like? How quickly did you notice a difference in your migraines?

I am currently receiving Botox however this last one is not helping. I am considering the daith piercing but I keep seeing such mixed reviews. I would like to get information from others that have had it done.

Who experiences auras before migraines sometimes?

Who experiences auras before migraines sometimes?

I have always had some visual disturbance with and preceding a migraine. However it is rarer that I have a super aura. The first time I had one, I woke to the certainty of police and emergency vehicles outside our window. The red lights were flashing all around my room. I got out of bed to look out the window, there was nothing. Yet the red flashing continued for a few minutes. Followed by a migraine the first time, but not every time. Sometimes it looks more like… read more

I have a few questions to pose to those that have gotten the daith piercing.

I have a few questions to pose to those that have gotten the daith piercing.

1. Are they easy to remove & put back in? I have multiple brain issues so i have to get annual scans so i have to remove ALL my facial piercings. I cannot get any piercings that i cannot remove myself or put back in myself.
2. Are they sensitive/painful to lie on or to remove/put back in?
3. How quickly did you notice the difference in your migraines?
4. Did you get both sides done? If not, do you think you should've?
5. Would you… read more

At what number on a scale from 1-10 do you rate your “Average” migraine pain?

At what number on a scale from 1-10 do you rate your “Average” migraine pain?

I have read comments about migraine scales being different for everyone. I agree with that. Which left me wondering, with 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest, pain level and incapacitation. What do you consider a “average” or tolerable number on the scale? For me, at 1-3 I feel like I could throw a party, in my head. 3-4 is normal tolerable, allowing me to still function. 5-6 I feel anxious, cautious and usually take medication. 7-8 I’m… read more
