When I get a migraine my neck hurts really bad. I have found a neck brace really helps with the pain. Does any one else have this problem? Has any one else used a neck brace for this too? What else has any one tried that works?
No to the neckbrace but yes to the pain. I actually asked hubby to learn to "stretch" my neck with massage movements. It eases tension in the neck and allows it to stretch like the rest of the body… read more
I have always had some visual disturbance with and preceding a migraine. However it is rarer that I have a super aura. The first time I had one, I woke to the certainty of police and emergency vehicles outside our window. The red lights were flashing all around my room. I got out of bed to look out the window, there was nothing. Yet the red flashing continued for a few minutes. Followed by a migraine the first time, but not every time. Sometimes it looks more like moving grayish flying shadows… read more
Once very early on in my headache journey. Now, 30 years later I have had several in a year. No headache with them but once a few years ago. That headache was more painful.
I had the daith piercing done a year and a half ago while visiting a friend in Texas. I suffer from severe allergies and while there in TX I had a massive migraine and had to go to the hospital it was so bad. So my friend convinced me to try the piercing within 15 minutes of the piercing being done my headache was gone and I have not had one since. I have had some pressure in my sinus and aches in my neck upwards toward my head but they haven't become a migraine so to say. The daith piercing… read more

Could it be cathartic to write a letter to your friends and family, expressing your feelings about life with migraines? Even if they never read it? This was mine
"A letter to my Family and friends" On this day, I walked out side into the morning sunshine. In this moment of this day, I feel joy. I am optimistically cautious as I emerge into the warmth of the light, away from where the curtains remain drawn. As I write this to you, I feel a smile on my face and revel in this moment. Warm… read more

I have heard a lot of the daith piercing. I was wondering if anyone has done it. Did it work for you? How long did it take before it work? Need pro and con's about this kind of piercing before I do it.
My cousin did and it hasn't helped her's so i haven't done it.
My neurologist wants me to see a neurosurgeon for my neck. Ask me if I'm scared!!!!
I have nerve issues. I was diagnosed with CIPD. Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy.. I would suggest seeing one if you are having those problems.
It is a beautiful sunny day, the kind of day that I should be out doing some yard work. But, I just can't. My husband works at least 60 hours a week and this weekend he is working on my summer car. We have hired someone to do our yard work and some inside work that I am unable to do. I find it frustrating, and embarrassing that I have to hire someone to work for me and I find myself feeling very guilty. I don't know how to deal with these emotions. I was always the doer, the one that if you… read more
