Eye Stroke caused by migraine, Permanent

Eye Stroke caused by migraine, Permanent

Has anyone had this happen to them??
I woke up with migraine. Got up and took migraine meds. 10 minutes later while laying down with eyes shut I saw 3 bright full blue moons that grew in rapid sec section, one after another.
I looked at alarm clock and I could only read the top half of numbers. Got up, turned light on and bottom of vision in one eye was gone! Looked like jagged sheets of ice.
Went to ER IMMEDIATELY. In the time it took to get there the blockage moved to… read more

How long did it take till you saw improvement going cold turkey on pain relief?

I have chronic migraines & by not finding any form of relief I've ended up taking strong painkillers almost everyday for a long time. I've been told by my doc to stop, how long did it take to see improvement.

Migraines vs Menopause

Migraines vs Menopause

Does anyone have migraines and think they were brought on by menopause? Or peri-menopause? I just turned 48, been having migraines for almost a year now, seems to becoming more frequently! Menstrual cycles are messed up also. Taking meds to regulate them, waiting for Mirana IUD Birth Control that should eliminate cycles, hopefully. Hoping it'll eliminate Migraines also. The worst migraines are 1-2 days before cycle starts, I've noticed, the last few months.
I've ordered the menopause OTC… read more

Serious TMJ pain and jaw clinching with grinding as well. I'm wondering if anyone has had their jaw broken/reset to help or alleviate any of these issues?

What type of exercise do you do that doesn't trigger your migraines?

What type of exercise do you do that doesn't trigger your migraines?

I used to go to the gym on a regular basis but due the Hurricane Florence our gym was destroyed. I walk when I can but I need to get back to strength training exercise but I have found most gyms offer HITT training and that triggers my migraines. I have tried other cardio classes and the music and lights also trigger my migraines. I do yoga at home but I am much more motivated when I go to a class. Has anyone found an exercise class that doesn't… read more

Do you have a good app for tracking a migraine that never stops?

Do you have a good app for tracking a migraine that never stops?

Those of you with a migraine that never actually ends....how do you (or do you even?) journal? Do you know of a good app for it? Migraine buddy doesn’t work so great when you can’t put in an end time. Current migraine has been going since October. I’ve essentially had 3 random pain freeish days since then.

Does your eye droop during migraines?

Does your eye droop during migraines?

Has anyone ever had this happen to their eye with a migraine? Sometimes it’s so bad I can’t hardly see. Always the same eye. It comes and goes. Happens whenever I drive for more than 15 minutes (which triggers a migraine) or whenever the migraines at home cross a pain level of about 7. Sunglasses don’t help. The neurologist said it’s not a stroke, that it’s a nerve issue. It’s not a muscle weakness, I can force my eyes open if I try hard. My optometrist is fascinated by it.… read more
