Trying to find right doctor - Status Migrainosus

Trying to find right doctor - Status Migrainosus

I am on day 152 of a ongoing migraine. All the doctors have said is that it is a status migrainosus. We have done several nerve blocks which have not worked. I continue to do Botox, Aimovig, preventative meds, and abortive meds. Nothing is helping. In the hospital, they did a CT, MRI/MRA/MRV, and a spinal tap. They gave me several different migraine cocktails - none of them worked. They gave me Toradol which I told them I had been given several times and it did not… read more

I only get migraines when barometric pressure drops, usually before a storm. Any good remedies for this?

I only get migraines when barometric pressure drops, usually before a storm. If I don't drink coffee or something with caffeine right away, nothing helps at all. Does anyone have good remedies for this kind of migraine?

I wish I did. When there are a series of storms, I take a low dose of prednisone for about a week. Seems to break the cycle.

How do you manage interactions with migraines?

How do you manage interactions with migraines?

Over 40 plus years, I have explained “I have a migraine” thousands of times. To family, loved ones, friends and even during social interactions, to offer explanation for myself. Those even closest to us, can often react with a sigh, eye rolling or smirk, and comments of total misunderstanding, of where we’re coming from. Yet in reality we are coping best we can. Yet I’m feeling more and more, that I literally hate hearing myself say, “ I have a migraine “. It is… read more

Are they still migraines if you don't have the usual symptoms?

Are they still migraines if you don't have the usual symptoms?

I've been told my chronic headaches aren't actually migraines because they don't follow the normal patterns. First, they are whole head every day, all day pain, not just centered in one area of the head. Also, I don't have any of the triggers or reactions like most people - no light sensitivity, no nausea, no auras, nothing. Just constant, steady pain. Does anybody else have this same problem?

No, I don't have headaches like yours, but you need to find out what kind they are because nobody needs to suffer. Think positive they will get better.
