Do Others Who Have Chronic Migraines Feel That They Are Highly Empathetic?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

For as long as I can remember, I have Empathized strongly with others. I didn't know early on in my childhood or even as a young adult, that it was uncommon. So, really hope to gain some insight here, from you all. Do you often feel your empathy causes a increase in your physical pain?

def an empath. & as eckhart tolle refers to the pain body i can become overwhelmed as a result of sensing & relating to both the pain of people other than myself & /or my own. 🙏

I'm an empath and honestly it sucks. I hate picking up on other peoples feelings, and it actually goes as far as if I'm watching tv I'll pick up on the emotions that are being transmitted. It's annoying to be watching something and then to suddenly feel like you're going to cry because of a happy ending, or a sad ending. Or to be angry when someone else is. I am a huge homebody because of being an empath. It just makes everything so much harder, and a lot of the time it makes my migraines worse, or makes them more frequent because I'm going through all these emotions that aren't mine.

I guess i am the same way because i to feel pain when someone else is in pain or are hurting. I had to grow up fast when i was little because of all the pain my mom felt when her and my dad were always into it. Then as i got older and had a family of my own i have felt it also when my son almost lost his son before he was born and i was in the room when they broke my ex daughter in laws water and my grandsons heart beat dropped and they said they had to do an emergency c section i felt there pain because i had just lost my baby several months before. I can't stand to see people in pain or hurting.

I think the empathy comes from understanding this level of pain so often. But in my opinion empathy does not add to a migraine.
