Anyone familiar with Zonegran. It’s a seizure Med like Topamax. I have been taking it for just a few days. Dr says it’s got fewer side effects than Topamax. I had good success with Topamaz for a number of years, then it stopped working. Haven’t been on this type of preventative for at least 5 years.
I hated Zonegran, the side effects were worse than any benefits I may have had. I had body temperature issues, July in Alabama temp outside with heat index was 114 degrees, I was sitting in the sun and only felt warm I did not even break a sweat, I had to wear long johns, sweat pants and sleep with 3 blankets. The drug made me so anxious I had to pace around to keep calm. I eventually had to call my Doc and tell him I had to come off the drug.
I was switched from Topamax to Zonegran and I love it. The only thing I dislike is that I still don't have some of the memory recall that I used to have before I started the Topamax. I feel so much better on the Zonegran and I don't have that fuzzy feeling when I am trying to talk to people. I definitely agree that there are many less side effects and that was a selling point for me. I hope it works well for you!!!
I'm taking zonagran for my bipolar. It is good for many things. I cannot take topamax because of the bad side effects I get on it. Give it a try.
I'm in Topamax for a mood stabilizer and it doesn't even work for my headaches I don't know what to do for my headache so that it helps her my moods😖😖
I started taking zonegran a few months ago. It seems to be helping somewhat . I also had side effects from topamax and would never take it again. I have had no side effects from the zonegran. I take 300mg at night
