How Do You Make Your Partner Understand Of Your Condition When You Are Having A Migraine?
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

I find it difficult to talk to my partner or make him understand what I’m going through. Firstly, I really don’t know how to explain the pain I go through. Secondly, I feel kind of embarrassed and weak if I vent it out to him. I have very low esteem when it relates to my migraines.. If that makes any sense.

You should never feel embarrassed or weak when telling anyone about your migraine. It's an illness that you have no control over. Perhaps it would help to write about your symptoms on a day that you are feeling well and give that to your partner. It's very hard for people to understand just how debilitating migraine can be. Educating yourself and your partner is probably the best way for him to understand and for you to come to accept what migraine really is.
