I use sumatriptan too!

I have the old Cefaly device, which looked like a headband, as well as the new version for that is for full blown migraine. The old one was (I thought) specifically for prevention, and should be used daily for about 1/2 hour. I would always forget to use the preventative one, and it really didn't do a whole lot for a full blown migraine, so I bought the second model. I use that one when I have a migraine, and it runs an hour. That one you can leave alone and it cranks up by itself, OR, you can crank it up. The older headband version couldn't be cranked up, and runs about 1/2 hour. I'm no expert, but if I were you, I would use it for an hour a day. If you see improvement, maybe then go to prevention first. I use the Cefaly for an hour when I feel a migraine coming on, and usually it just decreases my pain long enough until my meds kick in.
