How is the aimovig working for you? I received samples of it from my dr yesterday and im not too sure about it. Is the needle big like an EpiPen? Kind of reluctant to try it

Daith and Tragus Piercings for Migraine Pain: Key Points

1. Mixed Experiences:
- Some individuals report significant relief from migraines after getting a daith piercing.
- Others have found no benefit or even experienced worsening symptoms.

2. Research and Medical Opinions:
- A 2020 literature review suggested potential benefits similar to acupuncture, but more research is needed.
- Major health organizations like the American Migraine Foundation and Cleveland Clinic do not endorse daith piercings due to a lack of conclusive evidence.

3. Anecdotal Evidence:
- Some MyMigraineTeam members have reported dramatic improvements, such as reduced migraine frequency and severity.
- Others have shared negative experiences, including no relief and complications.

4. Potential Side Effects:
- Risks include complications from the piercing itself, such as infections and soreness.
- Up to 35% of people with ear piercings may experience complications.

5. Consultation with Healthcare Providers:
- It is recommended to consult with a neurologist before trying daith or tragus piercings as a migraine treatment.
- Alternative therapies like mindfulness, meditation, tai chi, and yoga may also be effective.

6. Practical Considerations:
- Issues such as difficulty sleeping on the pierced side, hair getting tangled, and problems using earbuds have been reported.

Summary
While some people find daith and tragus piercings helpful for migraine relief, the medical community remains skeptical due to insufficient evidence. It's essential to weigh the potential benefits against the risks and consult with a healthcare provider before proceeding.

I was on shots for almost 3 years but then it stopped working. I was on Aimovig but after a year I switched to Emgality, not as many side effects for me
