Anyone Tried Using A Weighted Blanket For Sleep Or Pain??
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

I just got an article in my inbox that spoke about using weighted blankets. I knew nothing about them.

Has anyone tried a weighted blanket to help with sleep or pain at night?

Here's a link to the article.

I'm off to research it. But I would love feedback if anyone has any!

Hugs all around

Yes. I have a weighted blanket. It's one of the best things I have ever bought. Besides having Migraines I have Fibromyalgia, Depression, anxiety, PTSD, and some other issues. Its great to use when you are in pain. Its a major comfort for you. Its calming. I can't say enough good things about it. If I were you I definitely would get one. Sorry for all the rambling. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will try to help you as much as possible. Good Luck! 💜 Hope you have a pain free day!

continued from above...
No, weighted blankets nor anxiety is just a "Millenial thing". Many people are using them and they are becoming increasingly popular, with many companies starting up projects to have them made. If you know someone that can make you one, I suggest that, as I'm all for the small business support, but I also love my manufactured one that I received. I wish I would have asked for it years ago. I've worked in environments for children and adults with developmental disabilities in different sensory environments and this was used in each of those cases. Why didn't I make the correlation to try one sooner?! The next migraine that comes my way, I'll be prepared and tucked under a beautiful soft heavy weighted blanket! I'm ready for you!

Ok, perhaps these WILL help us!

I suggest you do a long google search to find out what is the right weight and size for you. I don't think they're a one size fits all.

Sweet Dreams!

Hi,
I did return it. And no problem!

That's a bummer! Can you send it back?

On another note, I just wrote Hooga.com and told them I bought 2 green light bulbs for migraines, and even though it said it would last 25K hours, it lasted one month.

I got a reply in 30 minutes to say, "that's not right!" and they're getting another one off to me right now.

It's so nice to have people who really care about the service they give!

Hopefully, your blanket people are equally agreeable. :-)

I really wanted to believe the recommendation of a weighted blanket, for insomnia, anxiety, and just to receive general comfort. But after I bought one, and laid it over me, all the weight was on the sides of the blanket and very little weight actually on my body. I am a small person and I suppose I could’ve doubled it in half but I bought a 10 pound blanket based on my weight and very little of the blanket weight actually covered my body.
I have more weight with a pile of regular blankets.
