Question For Those Who Find Relief From Botox.
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

How long after you receive your botox injections do you get relief? I've had two injections so far and the first time it took two weeks and this last time it took three weeks. I'm curious what other people experience.

I have been getting Botox injections for almost 6 years now. It's been my 'Miracle Med'! My experience is that the relief was seen within a few days, to a week, in the beginning. I do experience 'break-thru' migraines, when it is almost time for the next treatment session. Usually, like within 2 weeks before the next treatment, I will get some headaches and maybe 1-2 full-blown migraines :-( during that 2 weeks, for which I then take (generic) Fioricet. That helps me, until my Botox treatment date. I have pretty much always, had quick relief from Botox, thankfully!! (And I must say that I had issues with 'middle-of-the-night' migraines & waking up with them....a few months back, but my Neurologist put me on Cyclobenzaprine 10mg Tabs, 1/2-1 tab before bedtime, and that has HELPED me SO much too! Those nighttime migraines have gone away with this treatment now.).Sending thoughts and prayers that you find relief with your Botox treatments.... we here, all truly understand how these migraines can be debilitating.... and life-changing. And getting the right treatment, is a life-saver for us! Bless you, & ((((hugs)))).

I can feel relief within a week. I find if I take it easy the day of injections it helps. There are instructions to follow day off injections.

The first injections were effective within two weeks and I have continual relief when I have them every three months. I receive mine from a neurologist or his PA and I think a neurologist should treat migraines.
I am taking Qulipta a new migraine medication and I think the combination of Botox and Qulipta are an amazing combination. I have been migraine free for two weeks and that is a record for me because I had daily migraines.

I was on Botox for 6 months and it did absolutely nothing. It works for some but not others.
