A lot of people don’t understand how migraines work and how they can affect your life.

I've suffered with migraines all of my adult years and I'm 51 yoa. I have FMLA for them & if I didn't I am pretty sure I would have lost my job long ago. This past week a coworker around 33 yoa was diagnosed with migraines & she has been on the job for one year compared to my 25 years. My supervisor was telling us that A, the coworker, had called in with a headache that she described as having an ice pick in her head, I do know how those are & was hoping she would get relief. Supervisor said A was upset & worried about losing her job and she told her you gotta do what you gotta do. Yea...that's not the same reaction I get from my supervisor. On top of that when I was given my yearly evaluation all of the time I missed was shown in categories & that kinda pissed me off especially since my evaluation was noted that I was her "go to person" for everything & she didn't think she would have been able to learn & do her job. She's only been there 2 years. Her calling my name out, her office is behind my desk, so many times a day is very frustrating. I have asked for a raise and given reasons I believed I deserved one. This was presented to the top person by me. Every time I mention something about no one standing up for me, I mean her & she knows it, she immediately changes the topic. But how is it that A has gotta do what she's gotta do but I am told on my evaluation I need to improve missing so much time. I've even tried explaining migraines to her, after my evaluation to get her to possibly see what we all go through. Her basic response to each thing was oh I didn't know that. I wanted to tell her "no you don't cause you have never experienced having chronic migraines for over 20 years. This is all extremely frustrating to the point of I don't know what to do. Sorry for the long post/venting

I totally agree wish that there was a way for them to feel what it's like to deal with migraines

I am so sorry. I don't think anyone understands a migraine unless you have experienced them!!!!!!! Not even the doctors, l realize some people are just looking for drugs, but these migraines are horrible and very debilitating for people πŸ˜•

If you try to not suffer thru a migrane, and go to the ER...they don't care about the headache. They automatically mark you as drug seeking. Why does it have to be this way? We just want relief!!
