Would you mind explaining how they administer the botox? Very curious.

I have been taking an Emgality shot once a month for 20 months now. I still have 15+ migraines a month.
I also take nortriptyline, gabapentin and nadodol daily to prevent migraines.
The neurologist I have been visiting has prescribed Nurtec and Zembrace injections for use when I get a migraine along with Promethazine for nausea and for when I just need to sleep. He encourages me to use medication as soon as I have pre- migraine symptoms, and I think that this or/and Emgality have lessened the intensity when I take something soon enough.
I left my previous neurologist after 3 years of botox without any improvement. I also never had enough medication to treat the migraines. She did not listen to any thing I said.
With the current neurologist I have plenty of medication to treat the migraines. At my last visit in December, he said that he would like me to let him try botox again. He said that it may not have been administered correctly. I will be continuing all of the other meds until there is improvement. I have agreed and am waiting for the insurance to approve the plan.

It's only been 4 months, but emgality and botox are helping me soo much..except they both wear off and for about 2 weeks before I get my Botox again, they come back with a vengeance. But, not having one for even 24 hrs is heaven to me. Good luck!
