💬 What helped you deal with medication side effects?
How long is too long to wait to use a rx when frequent use causes rebound headaches? Once I waited 7 days and got no relief so I got a toradol shots I also use triptans. I’ve tried the anti seizure meds, antidepressants, ace inhibitors and none of those worked. I also did Emgality that caused bad rashes for months after. I need help to get relief. I tried being vegan and then discovered I’m allergic to so many fruits and vegetables! Well, intolerant and they give me migraines. Idk what else to do
Thank you. I have a strong support team now, medical, family and friends, and I guess those momentary thoughts of "I have had enough" i am used to and pass very quickly.
I have had medication that had the warning "May cause suicidal depressions," those that caused me uncontrollable fear, that left me standing unable to move, that returned the seizures from the head injuries. But, thankfully, I no longer take those medications and deal now only with the side effects of the chronic migraines themselves, and am thankful no others have had those.
I am not sure. I felt so sick and unwell from the meds. Really fatigued and depressed, even if they provided some relief. My thing is to try to take as few as possible and do other things - use my devices, do some yoga (if possible), use the weatherX earplugs during pressure changes, etc.
I think many people have different different tolerances to different types of side effects, but if I find I need to take meds a few days in a row, I start getting super tired and depressed.
Yikes, that is a tough one! Depends on what they are. If they cause nausea then I take something for that…usually eat ginger cookies or something with ginger in it as it coats the stomach and helps with digestion. Headaches oh mercy that will just throw me into a cycle of migraine hell and haven’t been able to figure that one out yet. Tension type headaches I use ice packs or heat packs. Diarrhea that gets Immodium AD. It just really depends on what or how bad the side effects are.
