Of course. I went in because I was extremely weak, and was previously home and had been getting progressive worse. I was telling my primary that I was throwing up too much and they attributed it to a fibromyalgia and dismissed it like it was nothing. by the time I got to New Hanover I was almost dead. they had to give me four back to back blood transfusions to stabilize me, then explain that I have ulcers all over my stomach and that they had ruptured, and I was bleeding to dead.
then I was told that I had to have a Bill Roth II, which is gastric bypass, so that was confusing, but back, then there were no smart phones, and there were no laptops that I can bring to the hospital to verify what the doctor was telling me, so I listened and did emergency surgery. The surgeon is still at the hospital and I will spare him his name at the moment, but he was a teaching surgeon and he completely destroyed my upper G.I. he did a complete vegatomy, which means he removed. My vagus nerve completely cut it in half, so they can never reattach it, which paralyzed my stomach which now makes it painful for me to eat no matter when I eat. I should not have lived through it because he made my upper G.I. unable to digest food at all. I was on a liquid diet for four years. walking into that hospital and meeting him destroyed my entire life I was forced to retire at 34. I’ve been on disability ever since I am in government housing, which I never would have been in before. I’m the first person in my entire family to go into government housing, and I’m being discriminated against in Housing. There is not a day that I don't have excruciating pain and wish I didn't get off the surgery table. He took everything from me.
Living with migraines can create a cycle of fear and anxiety about when the next attack might occur. This fear is a common experience - many people with migraines find themselves asking "Will I have a flare today?" or worrying about their ability to complete daily tasks pain-free.
