I was hospitalized with. A broken femur and contacted pneumonia during the stay. My neurological health was totally ignored. Pressure shifts, storms and omg the perfume the nurses wear. Many times I was left crying in pain trying to explain to someone that I have miagrane. Through the whole stay, I found one nurse that asked about a fiorcet. Then requested it from the doctor. I was so thankful for her. Is this something that miagrainers need to advocate for during hospital stays?
Omg Brenda I am so sorry. CVS does this to me all the time. I find myself suffering with one pill left until I know the prescription is filled. I will be praying for you. Please let me know if it works. I am praying you find relief.
Do happy for your Brenda. If you are like me the Fiorcet will make a world of difference. When I lived in Michigan I started them at 32 years old and had so much control over my headaches. Now at 67 and live in Florida and they consider it a controlled substance and are really hard to get. The reason. Rebound headache from Tylenol. I mean really Tylenol is as much as I want over the counter. lol. Please to continue to get well. I am so happy for you. Let me know how you are doing.
Unfortunately since doctors cannot “see” migraines, “touch” migraines, and there is very little scientific data on migraines in regards to how to treat them since they aren’t curable, doctors don’t have a clue and therefore often times just give up.
I found the fiorcet to work so much better also. It’s one of my usual medications and when I got home from the hospital I obviously took fiorcet (a far less addicting and sedating) drug then oxy. But I ran out about a week before my script was due to renew. I tried to explain that I found the fiorcet to work far better on all my pain. But they were more concerned about rebound headaches then listen to my life changing events of the past two weeks. I think the doctor should not just look at the drug but really listen to what circumstances is behind the request. I hope your feel better Brenda. But if luck with fiorcet and on your journey
I also was hospitalized with a subarachnoid hemmorhage during a stay recently I had a bad headache. They gave me Oxycontin liquid but IT DIDN'T help. One of th e Drs. came in and asked me after I called the desk 3 times and said my head was killing me. We can't give you anything more. The drs. decided to take it seriously. They gave me Fioricet. I couldn't believe my headache let up a lot. I see my regular dr. this week and I'm going to ask for that instead of my normal Oxycontin
