Typically 20 min. Cardiovascular exercise is recommended, at lease for CVD. You may already be exercising “ enough”? Have u considered fun stuff like rowing, dancing etc? Idk if u r able… im trying to try chair exercises as recommended above and from my daughter. St. Louis County Library has at least one video of chair exercises in YouTube. I really enjoyed Zumba when my migraines weren’t as debilitating, as you are encouraged to modify movement to your ability, and the music is very upbeat and fun. Yes, there are some free Zumba classes in YouTube, I believe.
I don't exercise every day but when I do, I use chair exercises as well as exercises that I can do while standing at my island. These are helpful as I have vertigo.
Since I having a heart attack in 2020 I have been walking more and eating a low-carb diet daily. The combination of the two is so SO helpful to keep my heart healthy and my cholesterol balanced. I have dropped all sugar and all salt from my dietary items. I no longer will drink items with sugar in them. I tend to drink either filtered water or black coffee with a small amount of milk in the morning. I have increased my fruit and vegetable intake as it helps both sugars and vitamin intake. I stay hydrated every day by using natural fruit in the water or I will use an enhancer from Mio which is zero calories. All of the above is approved by both pain management and my cardiologist.
Hi Angela. I started with stretching and used to have friends that would come "take me for a walk". I could only stand upright for short time periods. 5 years later I still struggle some days but the shots and diet and some meds have helped me alot. I found watermelon gave me enough water and sugar to help me get my body to settle down. Also my friend network has been the greatest support. Good luck and practice breathing.
Hi. I need to exercise more. My problem is have ADD and my focus and distractions are bad. Doctor took me off Adderall b/c my mom had heart disease and high b/p. My b/p is fine. But won't let me back on it. Finally given effexor. Not much help. I am a morning person exercise floor exercises and indoor bike. That's only 10 minutes. I also walk dog 15 min. How can I stop procrastinating? My eating is ok.
