At What Number On A Scale From 1-10 Do You Rate Your “Average” Migraine Pain?

At What Number On A Scale From 1-10 Do You Rate Your “Average” Migraine Pain?

I have read comments about migraine scales being different for everyone. I agree with that. Which left me wondering, with 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest, pain level and incapacitation. What do you consider a “average” or tolerable number on the scale? For me, at 1-3 I feel like I could throw a party, in my head😉. 3-4 is normal tolerable, allowing me to still function. 5-6 I feel anxious, cautious and usually take medication. 7-8 I’m seeking dark, quiet and bring nausea medication on… read more

Can People Share Their Experiences Of Taking Aimovig?

Can People Share Their Experiences Of Taking Aimovig?

I’m having trouble getting my insurance to cover Emgality and my neuro says that Aimovig might be easier to get through for some reason. However, I’m rather concerned about the severe constipation side effect that has caused some patients to need surgery as that has been an issue I’ve had my whole life. How have you guys combatted that side effect? Any info you think would be useful would be much appreciated! TIA! 😊

Many of the treatments for migraine cause constipation. My neurologist prescribed magnesium for it. It's a big help!

Botox

Botox

I received my first Botox treatment yesterday. My neurologist told me that it could take two weeks to take effect. Today I've had some fairly strong pain spikes and visual disturbances, but no constant throbbing. I'm wondering about other people's experiences.

How Much Work Do You Miss On Average From You Migraines? Or How Do You Cope At Work?

How Much Work Do You Miss On Average From You Migraines? Or How Do You Cope At Work?

I get anywhere from 14-19 migraines or headaches a month. I have FMLA through my job, my doctor gives me 2 days a month with each episode lasting up to 3 days each. If I'm not taking a day off, and I push through it going to medical doesn't feel like an option for me. I can only stay in there for 45 minutes. It's hard to deal sometimes.

I just had to take 33 hours of leave without pay. I am a single mother of 3 and I truly can't afford this.
