Am new to migraines. Am 42 years old and 3 months ago had first one. I thought I had heart attack. But things didn’t add up cause I didn’t had chest pain nor arm pain. Just slurred speech.

I have headaches that last sometimes 2 days then sometimes a week. Does any one have a cartilage piercing ? And if so did they help with the headaches? I've gotten a cartilage piercing before but do not remember if it helped me or not. I just want to feel better .
For a long time now, I have had issues with sleep, falling asleep, waking up and then falling back to sleep. I've tried melatonin, Zquil and Unisom and all I've gotten are weird dreams. I am going on a trip without my family for the first time and I'm a bit scared... to top it off I'm going to Disney World where I have always gotten terrible migraines. I'd love any and all suggestions to help the migraines be minimal. Thanks!
I've been on Topiramate for a while (300mg daily) and none of the side effects are that bad except I'm worried about my intelligence levels and language disability. It wasn't that bad until maybe the past couple of months and now I feel like my intelligence levels have dropped and my memory has gotten worse. I am not able to write nearly as well as I did in the past and can't really form sentences and my vocabulary is poor. I wanted to know what other people's experiences have been… read more
I have gotten my migraines under control for the most part. I found my big trigger was lactose so I stay away from it as much as possible. But now my son is getting migraines. I started getting mine around the age of 10 and so did he. He's not 13 and gets them almost weekly. Are migraines hereditary? Could his hormones make them worse because of his age? What are some relief options to use with him?
Has anyone tried indomethacin for migraine/cluster type headache? I am going to try but am concerned because I have gotten ulcers in the past from NSAIDs.
