Depakote For Migraines?

Depakote For Migraines?

Hey All,

I'm currently on depakote for my epilepsy. Has anybody had luck with this drug as a migraine component? I'm currently taking two 500mg tablets at night. Along with my neurontin 800mg one tablet 3x a day.

I take 1000mg at night for my seizures. And my neuro just increased my dose of Neurontin to 3200mg a day because one of my other meds caused too many problems with depression. The longest I've gone… read more

I Have A Question For The Community About A Migraine Sensation I'm Trying To Explain.

I Have A Question For The Community About A Migraine Sensation I'm Trying To Explain.

I have a question for the community about a migraine sensation I'm trying to explain. When I start to feel the early signs of a pending migraine approaching due to bad weather, something happens I can't quite explain. I know what tinnitus is and this is not a ringing in my ears. I don't see or feel flashing lights like an aura, I had seizures many years ago and this is not that. The sensation which occurs is more unique. Some of you might remember in the old days when we would turn on… read more

Flashing Blue Lights?

Flashing Blue Lights?

I was in a minor auto accident last Wednesday and have had a migraine that started afterwards. I've been having these 'visions' where I'm seeing flashing blue lights every few moments. Does anyone have a suggestion about the visions I'm having?

Face Coverings Triggering Migraines?

Face Coverings Triggering Migraines?

Hi all
Apologies if this has been asked, but I can’t find anything in the search bar
I wondered if anyone has experienced worsening migraines since having to wear PPE? I’m a healthcare worker so I am unfortunately spending my days in PPE but this has coincided with longer lasting and more intense (and impossible to manage) migraines. My GP has now put me on beta blockers and believes my PPE is responsible. I’m feeling totally fed up with the world we are living in, but now my job and the… read more

Barometric Pressure....how Does It Affect You And Is There Anything You Can Do To Avoid Them?

Barometric Pressure....how Does It Affect You And Is There Anything You Can Do To Avoid Them?

My migraines are definitely triggered by the barometric pressure going down. It doesn't seem to bother me when it rises. I live in the Calgary, Alberta, Canada region and we have the worst BP changes in the country. Used to love the Chinooks over the mountains as it brings warmer weather but now that I have migraines, I dread them.

I have had good luck with a combo of Botox+occipital injections + eletriptin+ ice. The Botox injections use a tint needle so they really don’t hurt me
At this point in my life, I’ll try anything to… read more

Does Anyone Get Migraines During Weather Changes?

Does Anyone Get Migraines During Weather Changes?

I often, well almost always, get a migraine when the weather changes, especially when the temperature drops or when it rains. Medicine often doesn't help. If this happens to you, how do you control or ease the pain?

A MyMigraineTeam Member said:

Weather is my main trigger. I should have been a weatherman. I can predict the weather better than radar.

Migraines Vs Menopause

Migraines Vs Menopause

Does anyone have migraines and think they were brought on by menopause? Or peri-menopause? I just turned 48, been having migraines for almost a year now, seems to becoming more frequently! Menstrual cycles are messed up also. Taking meds to regulate them, waiting for Mirana IUD Birth Control that should eliminate cycles, hopefully. Hoping it'll eliminate Migraines also. The worst migraines are 1-2 days before cycle starts, I've noticed, the last few months
I've ordered the menopause OTC aid,… read more

Have Any Of Y’all Taken Keppra?

Have Any Of Y’all Taken Keppra?

My epileptologist prescribed this medicine about a month ago, for seizure-like symptoms and migraine. Started taking it about three weeks ago. Began to have really bad intermittent sleep, though, and bad mood swings. Did help some with the pain, and feelings of deja vu, and blanking out. Just wanted to get an idea of what y’all’s experience with this drug has been like.
