What do you guys know about triptan overuse headaches?
I just learned of them from a nurse at my neurologist’s office. This had never been mentioned before by my neurologist and he prescribes me 30 rizatriptans per month and 7 frovatriptans per month, which covers my 20 migraines (if they decide to work). Am new to migraines. Am 42 years old and 3 months ago had first one. I thought I had heart attack. But things didn’t add up cause I didn’t had chest pain nor arm pain. Just slurred speech
Luckily I had morphine left over from kidney stone I had month before migraine attack. But morphine didn’t work. Had to take Advil and Tylenol too. Than I fall a sleep and when I woke up I was just tired but head was fine.

I started having migraines about 10 years ago but when I left my husband they suddenly stopped and only came back about 9 months later when I was going through another stressful situation and since then they are constant. I am allergic to so many meds and have suffered with migraines for 20 years,Excedrin migraine has helped but the last 5 times I have used it my stomach feels like it is being ripped apart, The pain is just as bad as the migraine but s you know trying to go without a migraine med is impossible and going to the hospital is not practical at this time,,, Any suggestions to help with the stomach pain caused by the excedrin? I take excedrin also . I drink Sprite and have A few Ritz crackers to help with tummy issues
I haven't tried that drug. I'm going to ask my Dr about that medicine. I have to hurry he is retiring the end of this month.
