What do you guys know about triptan overuse headaches?
I just learned of them from a nurse at my neurologist’s office. This had never been mentioned before by my neurologist and he prescribes me 30 rizatriptans per month and 7 frovatriptans per month, which covers my 20 migraines (if they decide to work). I have read comments about migraine scales being different for everyone. I agree with that. Which left me wondering, with 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest, pain level and incapacitation. What do you consider a “average” or tolerable number on the scale? For me, at 1-3 I feel like I could throw a party, in my head😉. 3-4 is normal tolerable, allowing me to still function. 5-6 I feel anxious, cautious and usually take medication. 7-8 I’m seeking dark, quiet and bring nausea medication on… read more

I am allergic to so many meds and have suffered with migraines for 20 years,Excedrin migraine has helped but the last 5 times I have used it my stomach feels like it is being ripped apart, The pain is just as bad as the migraine but s you know trying to go without a migraine med is impossible and going to the hospital is not practical at this time,,, Any suggestions to help with the stomach pain caused by the excedrin? I take excedrin also . I drink Sprite and have A few Ritz crackers to help with tummy issues
I haven't tried that drug. I'm going to ask my Dr about that medicine. I have to hurry he is retiring the end of this month.

I have chronic migraines & by not finding any form of relief I've ended up taking strong painkillers almost everyday for a long time. I've been told by my doc to stop, how long did it take to see improvement.

My PCP is saying shots to help but I'm not to sure of this as I take Butalb-acetamin-Caff (Phone number can only be seen by MyMigraineTeam users) (emergency back up med) with Topamax 50mg daily with little to no relief pro and cons of the shots please

Hi all
Am new to migraines. Am 42 years old and 3 months ago had first one. I thought I had heart attack. But things didn’t add up cause I didn’t had chest pain nor arm pain. Just slurred speech
Luckily I had morphine left over from kidney stone I had month before migraine attack. But morphine didn’t work. Had to take Advil and Tylenol too. Than I fall a sleep and when I woke up I was just tired but head was fine.
