I only had MOH for a month or two before my doctor saw me and explained what was happening. So I just started a preventive (propranolol) and got weekly craniosacral therapy. I didn't have as hard a… read more
I have chronic migraine but I was recently diagnosed with intractable. Interested in learning more.
I use Highland Pharma highest concentration. It costs a lot, but I can use less drops so it lasts much longer. The problem with a five or seven day migraine is it wears out out. I freeze up leftovers… read more
What do you guys know about triptan overuse headaches?
I just learned of them from a nurse at my neurologist’s office. This had never been mentioned before by my neurologist and he prescribes me 30 rizatriptans per month and 7 frovatriptans per month, which covers my 20 migraines (if they decide to work). However, I had no idea that by taking the prescribed medication as directed, I could actually be causing more migraines. But if I don’t take them, I’m in excruciating pain and am… read more
I get a lot of headaches in the morning. I use Sumatriptan and try to watch how often I take it. I am on the lowest dose. It is frustrating that there is no one set cure for this disease. I will… read more
I know it's common for people with epilepsy, but they've ruled out epilepsy and told me it's just a migraine aura. Does anyone else experience this? What usually happens is I get the deja vu in my sleep, wake up with the deja vu (it's really intense) often I have excess saliva or I have nausea and vomiting. Soon after the deja vu I experience severe headache (migraine).
Yes, I've have had aural! Since I started having migraines as a 9 year old
I started taking Exindrine and they would either go away or be reduced enough for me to function. I know there are… read more
I do and I hate it and it seems like the only one that understands it is my soon to be husband
I only get migraines when barometric pressure drops, usually before a storm. If I don't drink coffee or something with caffeine right away, nothing helps at all. Does anyone have good remedies for this kind of migraine?
I wish I did. When there are a series of storms, I take a low dose of prednisone for about a week. Seems to break the cycle.
I am currently suffering from an unbreakable migraine headache that won't let up and won't respond to home treatment.
I might have you confused you w/someone else. I get these senior moments! No fun. LOL
I get lots of intractable migraines that last longer that 48-72 hours & don't respond to standard treatment (also called status migrainosus). I would love to know if any of you have ideas on how to treat them?
To complicate things further I can't take ergots or triptans because of severe side effects to these medications in the past. My "go-to" medicine for this is a steroid taper (was 4mg methylprednisolone taper pack but eventually that stopped helping & the dr upped the dose to a 20mg predni… read more

Does anyone know what can be done to prevent weather headaches? Or what can be done to relieve the weather headache?
Very warm and unsettled weather in the DC area this week. Have had a migraine the last 4 days, and taken Rizatriptan 3 times. Not sure it's working yet. Came to work, but man, would I like to be at… read more
