I began with the Sumatriptan injections years ago. Then switched to the pills. The effect was full body and left my limbs feeling achy and heavy. I prefer the nasal mist delivery method. However I have found that the migraine will often leave one side of the head, only to appear on the other within a hour or so. I find if the migraine is on the 'lesser painful' side, that I hesitate to use the Sumatriptan (Imetrex) . Does anyone else experience this?
Me too. My migraines go from side to side
Thank you for answering my message. My husband agrees with you and I think you are right. I know you know how desperate you can get. Do you know the American Migraine Foundation? I was on their site… read more
My doctor has me doing Botox and I've only been to the ER once a month or less since I started... sounds like a lot but it's not for me when it was once or twice a week
My left hand has been going numb. Anyone else ever had this problem?
I have Zomig in my bedroom, car, purse - - I used to have them in the nurse's office at school, and in a file drawer in my room and office area. Sadly, it reminds me of an alcoholic "hiding" bottles… read more
I use a Sumatran injection. It is the only thing that works for me right now. I also have gastroparesis, but didn't have any luck with the nasal spray.
You could have been talking about me. I also take sumitripsn & excepting. My headaches come in a cycle. I often wake up with one.
I seem to get migraines right around my monthly cycle (Sorry if TMI) I get them so bad where I have to constantly go from the bed to the couch, has anyone tried anything other than medication? I was given a Rx for Sumatriptan from my PCP but I find myself too far into my migraine by the time I take it. I also take it with Tylenol. I just want to cry and cry because my head throbs, I feel nauseous and dizzy.
I used to get them around that time also. My gyn put me on a diuretic before my cycle started to get rid of the xtra water. Are you taking oral Sumatriptan? If so ask your PCP ( you should be under… read more
Anyone else get frustrated trying to get into your migraine meds when need it. I had to go to two different rizatriptan today before i could get one open. Once it was 3. Dont they realize in pain and with body not finctioning, easier is better. My poor pill was all crushed up today by the time i got it under my tongue to dissolve. Guess it got in my system quicker.
That's the same as my zomig they come in blister pack and on one corner to pull apart sometimes I can't grip it so hubby does it for me so annoying when you can't get them out
I am 72 years of age and have suffered with migraine from the age of 14. Recently though I am having them daily and my sinuses are stuffy....ordinary painkillers do not work and the doctor took me off sumatriptan because of my age. Any ideas please?
Try a sinus rinse, there is the NetiPot, or the one I use is a soft bottle made by NeilMed. You MUST use distilled water to mix with the powder in the box, squeeze gently and it will flush the… read more
