Thanks for your input and responding ! The daith piercing I did try worked for maybe a month I want to say. It fell out somehow. I noticed less severe migraines. I will go again soon and repeat. Did u say u knew someone who had the trigger point injections in their neck? The pain mgmt. dr. Wants to try but if I didn't respond to Botox shots I'm not too optimistic about this route of treatment. I feel like they put everyone through the same course of treatment now steering everyone clear of pain meds to avoid the issue of addiction that is becoming so prevalent. Sometimes I feel like I need that morphine IV at the er after days and days of suffering and sky high blood pressure etc.. as far as disability goes, I taught for 21 years and paid into state teachers retirement so when I applied for disability, I went thru strs. I did not go through social security. With me I had to prove that I was no longer able to teach- that within the last 2 years my health was so poor I could not work and I was not getting better with a large team of dr.s. To me it felt like an interminable amount of time and legwork, tons of documentation, organization, follow-thru,persistence, family support, financial support, but I was finally awarded it. I think if I had to go thru social security it would have been much more difficult, taken years and I would have needed an attorney. From my understanding u have to prove that you are unable to work any type of job. I have family members and others who I've heard it can take years and some never get approved. So... it's a coin toss! I wish u the best if u decide to go thru it and I'd be happy to offer more specific advice.
I have tried just about EVERYTHING.... I even got the Daith ear piercings in both ears.... Some people have had great success with that.... Its kind of like acupuncture but lasts longer.... My cousin hasn't had but 2 migraines in over a year with her Daith Piercings... A lot of people have great success with it. Mine lasted about 2 months but it was a great two months !! It is done at a tattoo place. And costs about $25-$50 per ear. Look it up on the internet. You will be amazed !! The piercing hurts like ... well it hurts for about 10-15 seconds while they are piercing it. After that it was just tender for a few weeks. I have had to quit work again because of the migraines. I have thought about disability.... was it difficult?
1 time I tried trigger point, then 3 days after that went and got a massage. Felt great for 3 weeks. But the next time I got the TPI, it didn't help as well.
I have worked for 35 years in dentistry. The last 4 years I have worked off an on for a total of about 18 months. Migraines and other medical issues just kept wearing me out. I love working and would rather work but I am only good for about 3 hours and then the fatigue takes over. I have several dr appts lined up once I go to them I may try for disability. I have heard it's difficult. My BFF had the trigger point injections instead of the Botox it seems to help her. Good luck to you as well !
