I have been doing some research on my symptoms since the doctors all keep telling me they are just migraines😡. I am just looking for any help I can get! I am hoping this community can shed some light on this particular type of migraine and maybe a new doctor!♥

Thank You♥

I had a hemiplegic migraine once and never again thank God! Sudden onset at work. Raised my head and everything was out of focus. My balance was gone, speech was weird and I was confused. I thought maybe I had an ear ache; not sure. RN in the ER so help handy. Initially rule out bleed w CT then off to MRI. ? Dissecting vertebral artery. I couldn’t even get into a gown! Whole ER is in Radiology with me. Next was an angiogram to rule out the dissection. Nope. Neurologist dx hemiplegic migraine although the other sx so overwhelming the migraine pain not til later. Scariest thing ever! Arms heavy!! Then sx left and came back over and over like ocean waves for several hrs then gone except migraine. Thank god.

I believe that I have either Hemiplegic or Silent Migraine based on my symptoms though my Neurologist says I do not. While initially after diagnosis almost two years ago I had a lot if headaches, they were almost always accomplished by wooziness in my brain, visual disturbances, numbness and tingling in my left arm and leg, gait issues due to wooziness, facial pain. It's awful and very scary. On several Occasions I went to the ER thinking I was having a stroke. Currently I take Ubrelvy, which helps sometimes with the headache symptoms but does nothing for the other symptoms. I have been in a cycle since January 22nd. Symptoms have varied ftom dsy to day but wooziness( very disturbing) has been constant. For anyone in this community who has this type of Migraine, what has worked, if anything?

I had one hemiplegic migraine many, many yrs ago and pray to never have another. Much like a stroke. Very scary. The other sx so overwhelming, I didn’t even notice my headache. Had emergency CT, MRI and then angio all to rule out dissecting cerebral arteries. Dx by means of rule out was hemiplegic migraine. Vertigo, confusion, facial droop, unable to follow commands, listing gait. Symptoms would wax and wane over 12 hr course.
